Innovation centre, Abu Dhabi
In November 2015 H.H. Sheikh Nahyan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan inaugurated our state-of-the-art Innovation Centre in Sas Al Nakhl in Abu Dhabi, which serves as a hub of innovation in the field of polymer development and application technology. With a focus on Research and Development (R&D), our scientists, researchers, engineers and lab technicians join forces to design novel materials and use advanced technologies, equipment and testing machines across the laboratory to ensure our products are providing the best value to our customers. In Innovation Center, the scientific mindset and the team work are drivers in finding polyolefin solutions to enhance and improve people daily life.
We organise visits by academic institutions, universities and organisations raising awareness about the importance of polyolefins and polymer science and developing the future talent in this growing field. Borouge has so far obtained more than 700 granted patents covering newly developed products. Borouge is a major patent applicant in the region with over 1100 patent cases covering inventions created by Borouge scientists in the UAE. More than 20% of Borouge’s annual sales volume is now derived from products developed at the Innovation Centre.
